We're in the middle of a summer lull, as many of us take a break from Mizzou and the Columbia music scene. But that doesn't mean that we aren't busy. J. West and I are playing in a musical he wrote based on the classic movie "Plan 9 from outer space." This is widely considered to be the worst cinema creation in history, and yes, it's being brought to the stage here in mid-Missouri. While I've heard the original movie hovers near the bottom of lists which contain the likes of Judge Dredd, Leprechaun 4 and Gigli, I guess it's at least funny in the same way the William Shatner's "Transformed Man" is a comedy classic. Or maybe not. The musical's pretty good, though, at least in my opinion. I digress.
On another note, our performance at the Rocheport General Store was fun. It's a cool place and we encourage everyone to venture out there to watch us when we play there in the future. Go see some other bands there too. We'll be out and about in the Columbia area again starting in August as we all congregate for school and end our various respites and get back to business. Watch the schedule as we add dates. |
