Live Music In Columbia, MO

I've noticed that Columbia, MO is not too awfully condusive to live music. Sure, the Cherry Street Artisan, Mojo's, the Blue Fugue and the Martini Bar all have live music, but its never advertised nearly as much as I would imagine it should be. I know that people in Columbia enjoy live music, but you'd never expect to see Columbia bloom into a major music hub. It seems all the stuff going on is kind of shoved out of the way.

Granted, we play a mix of jazz, funk and blues, with predominantly jazz overtones, we don't quite fit the mold for popular music. That's cool, we get it. We aren't complaining that Columbia doesn't love us, in fact, we've only had great response from the people who take the time to listen. The problem is the people who listen are far and few. Maybe we should play more up tempo, funk stuff. And get some vocals. Maybe we'll get some love that way.

Either way, Columbia is still a great town with a decent music scene. I just wish it was more of a music scene.
