We just spent 6 hours Sunday at Mansion Studios here in sunny Columbia, MO and boy was it a good time. Bruce and Adam are both great, super knowledgeable and I highly recommend them. We laid down 4 takes of The Monkey's Hat, 4 takes of Don't Have A Chance and 3 takes of Manhattan Neon.
One great thing about mansion studio is their huge selection of instruments. Jay got to sit at a vintage Hammond B3 (I'm jealous) and we haven't yet decided if he played the hell out of it or it just makes everyone sound so much better (us included). I got to strum a Gibson ES-135 for our jazzier tunes, and try out a Marshall Bluesbreaker (sounds great of course). Chris and Anthony sounded great, and were hidden from us in the other roomas Adam, myself and Barcroft played in the main room.
In short, we all sounded great and got some really nice recordings. I have the Sonar session files on my computer, but without the awesome plugins from Bruce, looks like we're starting fresh again.

We are busy prepping for what may be our final semester playing together as Glass Cannon. Both Chris and I will be graduating, and while I may or may not be going to Mizzou for a second round of schooling, I am definitely excited about working towards finishing an album soon. We have tons of tracks to keep around for keepsakes, but it would be awesome to have a really well rounded and complete album.
Since we've been rather busy with not getting great takes of our recordings, I think we may take a stab at playing in a real, live studio. Mansion Studios is located nearby in Columbia, MO, so we might check them out and see what we can whip up over a few days in the studio. At least this will give us some great experience, good memories and an awesome memoir in the form of a full album.
Stay tuned, more news to come quickly.
Oh, by the way, Happy New Year!
